City Walks, a program sponsored by local anti-violence organization SilenceIsViolence, link neighborhoods and carry us through the New Orleans cityscape on foot. By asserting a positive presence in our neighborhoods, City Walks seek to nurture solidarity among all citizens as we work toward a more peaceful city. We honor the strong, distinctive neighborhoods of our city, while we express our unity in seeking a safer New Orleans.
This spring, SilenceIsViolence continues our City Walks program by teaming up with similarly minded community organizations and youth groups. Through partnerships with City Year/City Heroes, the New Orleans Social Aid and Pleasure Club Task Force, the Department of Justice, and the Holy Cross Neighborhood Association, we continue to build an alliance for peace in our streets and our city.
