NOPD Task Force survey

Date: Sat, Mar. 20, 2010

THIS WEEK is your chance to contribute to the discussion regarding new leadership at the NOPD! On Thursday, March 11, the Task Force assigned to recommend a new NOPD police chief to Mayor-Elect Mitch Landrieu will hold a public meeting at the Superdome. Please attend if you can, or submit your thoughts via the Task Force's survey, available online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SLFVSHC or in hard copy at www.silenceisviolence.org. You can turn in your completed survey at the Urban League (2322 Canal Street) or at Sound Cafe (2700 Chartres Street), or you can complete a survey at tomorrow's public meeting. Because the timeline for finding a new chief is tight, we are asking that you make every effort to submit your survey by THIS FRIDAY!

The public's perspectives are crucial to the process of selecting a new police chief. The confidence of the public and the NOPD rank and file will be prerequisites to success for the new chief, regardless of her or his qualifications. Each of our experiences and all of our voices are important, so please participate this week!
